Bio

Jake Barsha is a Los Angeles–based editor and filmmaker with a deep background in narrative storytelling and professional production workflows. A member of the International Cinematographers Guild (IATSE Local 600), he began his career in the motion picture industry in 1998, working extensively across commercials, television, promos, music videos, and feature films for companies including Anonymous Content, Smuggler, FOX, Paramount Studios, Warner Bros., Universal, Sony, and others.

After years working on set as a camera assistant and film loader, Jake transitioned into creating original work, bringing a strong editorial sensibility shaped by hands-on production experience. His feature film Eugene premiered at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, received a “New Vision, New Voices” Award nomination, and screened at festivals worldwide, earning recognition for writing, directing, and performances.

Jake later created and directed the web series The Funny Man, which was financed and distributed by Dailymotion and received multiple awards, including Outstanding Director and Outstanding Writer from the LA Web Series Festival. In 2015, he wrote, produced, and directed South 32, a feature film made under extreme creative constraints that achieved a limited theatrical release in Los Angeles.

With experience spanning set production, post-production, and creative leadership, Jake brings a grounded, story-first approach to editing and filmmaking. He remains committed to the craft and continues to develop work across narrative, promotional, and creative marketing formats.
